Position: Full Professor
Born 1966, in Vigo (Galicia, Spain). She graduated in Chemistry (1989) and obtained her Ph.D. also in Chemistry (1998), both from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
She joined the University of Vigo in 1992 as Lectured, and in 2000 she got an Assistant Professor position at the University of Vigo, in the Department of Materials Engineering, Applied Mechanics and Construction. Since 2019 she is Full Professor of the same Department. Her teaching activity develops in the field of Materials Science and Metallurgy Engineering
She belongs to the ENCOMAT Group, where she performs her research activity, focused on the study of corrosion phenomena, and on the development of strategies to prevent it. An additional research topic is centered on materials characterization. Part of her research activity was carried out in prestigious abroad Universities: University of Southern California with Prof. Florian Mansfeld between 1994 and 1995. Universitá degli Studi di Trento with Prof. Pier Luigi Bonora in1999.
From 2013 to 2016 she was Vice-Head of the Higher School of Mining and Energy Engineering of the University of Vigo.
